Recycling SUCCESS!
Happy EARTH DAY!
“You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you.
What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want
to make.” —Jane Goodall
Each and every day at BGCS is EARTH DAY! We are recycling paper, plastic bottles, cardboard, glass and film plastic and composting. I am excited to tell you that due to the combined efforts of all students, staff, neighbors and friends, we removed
3,864 POUNDS of film plastic
from landfills! That is nearly 2 tons of film plastic we do not have to worry about hanging from our trees, on the streets, in our rivers or our streams!!! We could not have done such an amazing job collecting without YOU!
In fact, we were notified that we won the park bench for our school!
I must make special mention to the Acevedo family for their donation of time, the rental of a u-haul trailer and nearly 1,000 pounds of plastic we bagged over two weekends. And a big thank you to Mrs. Franco for taking time on her busy weekends to join me with the Acevedo family to bag all that plastic and deliver it to Pick N Save where they recycle film plastic. A shout out goes to Ms. Sue and her science team for collecting and recording the data from the elementary building.
Again, we won this due to our TEAM EFFORT! Thank you.
Ms. Olson
